Jimmy Holmes received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington & Lee University in 1987, and his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in New Orleans. Since 1991, he has tried and argued cases at all district and appellate court levels throughout Louisiana and Mississippi, including both the Louisiana and Mississippi Supreme Courts. His practice includes automobile and trucking liability, premises liability, workers' compensation, errors & omissions liability, medical malpractice, products liability, toxic tort and environmental law, property & casualty, successions, construction, maritime law, and business litigation. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Mr. Holmes served on the Board of the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, acting as President 2005-2006. He also serves on the board of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and was a member of the LADC's Trial Academy's faculty. He is also active in the community, serving as President of the Academy of the Sacred Heart's Athletic Booster Club (2015-2016) and volunteering at the Harry Tompson Center's Homeless Legal Service Program.
