Oscar “Mac” Gwin, IV practices commercial litigation and often litigates cases involving construction, property rights, insurance defense, insurance coverage, property damage, breach of contract, construction defect, construction surety, construction liens, Louisiana Private Works Act, Louisiana Public Works Act, Louisiana New Home Warranty Act, Louisiana Condominium Act, errors and omissions, professional liability, redhibition, appeals, real property rights, tree law, and neighborhood and boundary disputes.  His representation of clients in the construction and property arenas include contractors and specialty subcontractors, as well as owners, utilities, business professionals, and individuals, both on the defense and plaintiff sides.  To that end, Mac has represented a major commercial subcontractor involved in numerous litigation matters relating to pre and post construction issues.

 Beyond his litigation practice, Mac also advises on general property and business matters, including drafting, review, and enforcement of contracts, leases, and other written agreements, as well as the preparation of insurance coverage opinions and general legal opinions.

A native of New Orleans, Mac attended Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2000. He received his Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2004. During law school, he was the Managing Editor of the Louisiana Law Review and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Research and Writing I and II, as well as Survey of Copyright Law.  Mac joined Christovich & Kearney upon graduation from law school in 2004.
