Alan Gerson is a well known New Orleans artist, married to Christovich & Kearney partner, Beth Meyer. After receiving a BA from Boston University, and an MFA from the University of New Orleans, Gerson pursued an art career, exhibiting in numerous group and one person shows and was the Visual Arts Director at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans for five years before embarking on a new career path, attended law school at Tulane University, graduating with honors in 1989. After three years of practice, he finally realized he was more interested in how the law books looked against the brown library table than in the legal arguments he was preparing, so in 1992 he returned to his studio. An ongoing legacy of his years as a lawyer is a series of water colors poking fun at the legal profession, skewering everyone from judges to clients, witnesses, juries and lawyers, alike. Some of these works have been compiled in his book, Habeas Circus.

For several years, the Christovich & Kearney holiday cards displaying Alan Gerson’s works have been enjoyed by clients and friends:

His work may be seen at LeMieux Galleries in New Orleans www.lemieuxgalleries.com, and Meyer Munson Gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico, www.munsongallery.com.
