JANET L. WHITE   Associate

Prior to commencing her law practice, Jan White had ten years of intensive care nursing experience, including not only the provision of direct patient care, but also unit management, training of professional and paraprofessional personnel, and program development and coordination. Ms. White served as an officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp, with tours of duty at the Presidio in San Francisco, Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She was the Assistant Head Nurse of the Coronary Care Unit at Washington Adventist Hospital and practiced locally at East Jefferson Hospital in the Coronary Care Unit. Ms. White's primary practice areas are nursing home defense, medical malpractice defense, products liability, healthcare fraud and abuse, Stark law, Medicare administrative appeals, representing registered nurses in disciplinary proceedings before the Louisiana Board of Registered Nursing, and general defense litigation.

Ms. White is a volunteer lawyer with The Pro Bono Project and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award as a Pro Bono Volunteer in recognition of donating over 50 hours in the year 2000. Ms. White also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Louisiana Guardianship Services.
