DIVERSITY POLICY

Christovich & Kearney is committed to promoting diversity within our Firm and within the legal profession. We believe racial, gender, and cultural diversity encourages creativity and open-mindedness and makes us a stronger firm, better able to serve our many and varied clients. Further, we are committed to promoting a work environment free of barriers or bias where each individual’s talents are valued and encouraged.

Toward this end, the Firm recruits attorneys, students and other personnel with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Through our mentoring program, we assist our associates to develop skills to help them grow professionally and also compete in an increasingly diverse and tolerant world. These efforts form an integral part of our core mission to provide our clients with superior and responsive legal representation.

As an indication of our commitment to diversity, the Firm’s Managing Partner, Phelps Gay, co-chaired with Associate Justice Bernette Johnson the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Diversity Committee. He and Justice Johnson presented a Resolution at the Association’s Annual Meeting in 2005 to make the Committee on Diversity a Standing Committee of the Association, a Resolution which passed unanimously. In addition, Christovich & Kearney participates in the LSBA’s Minority Job Fair program.

In sum, Christovich & Kearney believes diversity within our Firm and within the profession serves the best interests of our clients and our community.
