Rubi L. Brown joined Christovich & Kearney, LLP in 2023 as an associate attorney where she handles a broad range of commercial and civil litigation matters including general casualty, products, and premise liability. 

Upon completion of her legal education at Southern University Law Center in 2015, Rubi began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for Judge Paula A. Brown at Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans and the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal.  She then transitioned into the practice where she has gained meaningful experience as a plaintiff’s attorney in mass tort and complex litigation, defending labor and employment actions and conducting workplace investigations as outside general counsel for corporations, nonprofit entities, and charter schools.   

In addition to practicing, Rubi is an adjunct professor of law and Supplemental Bar Preparation Writing Fellow at Southern University Law Center.  She was also a leadership fellow for the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools.  She has taught continuing legal education classes for the Louisiana State Bar Association, Southern University Law Center, and the National Business Institute.

As a New Orleans area native, Rubi is committed to serving her community in and out of the practice of law.  She serves on the board of directors for local nonprofits and volunteers with local and national community service organizations that embrace and push forward initiatives of equity, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.
